I never know what team Ramon Sessions is on. There were a few years there where it felt like I was often being told he’d really change somebody’s trajectory, the Lakers or whoever. That noise seems to have stopped.
This year he’s with the Charlotte Acid Washed Cargo Jeans. He’s played for them before, when they were Bobcats. He’ll be getting those fumes minutes backing up Kemba, who, I don’t know if you know this, pretty interesting fact, is actually the Tasmanian Devil. Sessions is thirty. Played his college ball at Nevada. He’s been in the league for nine years. I feel like he looks like a very kind kitty cat.
One of my favorite things to do is go to a player’s bio page on NBA.com. If they’ve been around for a bit they’ve got a Personal section in addition to the sections dedicated to their college and pro careers. The Personal portion of the page is usually just more about them as a basketball player, focusing instead on high school, AAU ball, or where they grew up. Oftentimes it’ll say something like so and so likes to listen to music and spend time with his family and friends, as if that’s some unique, hot tidbit. Occasionally, though, you get a real gem. Sessions has one. Very bottom of the page, next to last item listed:
Says the one thing people wouldn’t know about him is that he has never swallowed a pill before.
So he always goes with the liquid forms of medicines? That must be horrible. Do they even have liquid pain killers, or are they all in pill form? Is that a stupid question? Has he never taken Advil? Tylenol? Ibuprofen? A delicious, good for you, One-A-Day multivitamin?
