Shumpert has long been one of our country’s wonders. His myth grows. He’s in the Fade music video. It stars Teyana Taylor, his wife. The final shot is wild. I’ve never its equal. The closest is in George Washington. This kid performs a soliloquy in a dinosaur mask.
In Fade, though, at the end, his daughter Iman—he named his daughter after himself—is there. Shumpert holds her. Taylor has a tail. They’re all glistening, surrounded by sheep.
The Cavs are talking about trading him. I don’t care. The guy’s in the upper echelon of beings. When his daughter was born they couldn’t make it to the hospital so he tied her umbilical cord with a red pair of Beats. He can do whatever he wants to for the rest of his life.
